How is Legal Argument defined in a legal contract?

• Legal Argument means arguments regarding the authority of a director to preside over a disputed case, the legitimacy of a law or rule, or the application of a constitutional mandate to a director, and the relevance of past rulings on the facts of the specific contested case hearing. It does not include: presenting evidence; examining and cross-examining witnesses; formulating factual arguments on the application of laws or rules to the issues and circumstances; comparisons of former actions by the director in similar situations; the literal interpretation of the directly relevant laws or rules; or asserting the acceptability of evidence or the appropriateness of procedural practices being adhered to.
